Lorin Sookol is a contemporary artist with a foundation in dance. Her work explores complex South African socio-political themes, with a focus on situations of racial, gendered, systemic and institutionalized violence. She is the recipient of the Standard Bank Young Artist award for Dance 2023 and the Pina Bausch Fellowship for Dance and Choreography award 2021. Sookool is currently a Master’s candidate at the Centre for Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies at the University of Cape Town
Djam Neguin is one of the most prominent and revolutionary figures of the Cape Verdean artistic and cultural scene today. He is a multidisciplinary artist with a unique career marked by a myriad of talents and achievements in the fields of dance, music, theater, fashion, performance, literature, and audiovisuals, which are also complemented by his activities as a producer and activist.
Albert ‘Ibokwe’ Khoza is an Internationally acclaimed award winning performance artist, director, choreographer, actor, and musician. After completing his Bachelor of Arts he has continuously projected through his work a loner and individual state of mind as a gay black womanly man and Sangoma. Through his sexuality and traditional practice, he expresses his thoughts visions and images, moving between different artistic mediums to outline social ills and what his divergent nature sees and interprets about the world he lives in, critically questioning his surroundings, people, leaders, and life itself. lbokwe, who has worked with world renowned choreographers like Robyn Orlin and Fabrice Gorgerat, has produced, directed, and performed in 8 internationally successful theatre works. As a stage and screen actor lbokwe’s latest ventures include directing, choreography, vocal scoring, cultural advising, and performance coaching. His latest work The Black Circus of the Republic of Bantu has performed to sold out houses in the Americas and Europe, winning him Best International work in Spain 2020 and 2023 Bessie Best Performer.
