JOMBA! 2023 DANCEABILITY FOCUS

JOMBA! 2023 DANCEABILITY FOCUS

As part of engaging our 2023 curatorial provocation of “(in)tangible heritages”, JOMBA! continues its support of focusing on, and opening up access to, dance work that makes visible that which has been rendered invisible within intersections around dance and disability. Consciously deconstructing ideas of ‘who can dance’ and the inherent ableist value systems within dance environments of training and performance, JOMBA! is delighted to offer a very special focus on dancers, choreographers and dance companies who are globally shifting conceptions around disability. Offering award-winning work that is opening up remembrances of heritages once buried and hidden, JOMBA! welcomes Joseph Tebandeke (Uganda), Unmute Dance Theatre (Cape Town, South Africa) and a very special inclusive programme from Introdans (Netherlands).
